CineQuote Newsletter #6
Oct 28, 2024
Give the paperboy his 2 dollars, your CQ newsletter is here.

Trust us, you don’t want that kid having a beef with you.
Happy Halloween Week! Did you dress up this last weekend, are you going to dress up on Thursday, or have you, like us, begun to light the huge bonfires to make sacrifices to the Celtic deities? Come on over if you’re able, we got some animal heads and skins and will be rocking Samhain ‘til the cops come.
Last Week’s Highlights
Highest Win Percentage 96.4% | Lowest Win Percentage 69% ![]() |
This should come as no surprise, but y’all know TOY STORY well. Like really well. Like, dear lord, is there a quote from this we could have stumped you on? Time will tell, but with a 96.4% win rate AND an astonishing 54.2% ACE rate, apparently Toy Story is the back of your hand. Now the gauntlet’s been thrown. Should we bring Toy Story back, we’re gonna do our Woodiest to Buzz you with some hard quotes. Maybe when Andy’s mom calls out, “Dinner!” that would be more difficult, but you’re probably all gonna get that too. Anyway, good show. We’re gonna scrawl all your names on the bottom of our foot because you owned us on that one.
It was HALLOWEEN H20: TWENTY YEARS LATER that proved the toughest test of the week. Are there a lot of Halloween movies? Yup. Did many of you just start randomly guessing Halloween sequels hoping the roulette ball landed on the one you picked? Yup. Was there a quote that basically told you the year this movie came out and you could have clicked the Halloween title that had that year in parentheses next to the title? Yup. Oh well. There are 170 Halloween sequels out there and I’m sure Michael Myers will return one day to CineQuote and you can apply this logic then. For those that got it, lay down on the ground and then do a situp without bending your knees or arms. You earned it.
Most Aced Movie 52.4% Toy Story (1995) | Stupid Sid and his firework. Do you all have this tattooed on your arm or something? “It came! It finally came! The big one. Extremely dangerous. Keep out of reach of children. Cool!” |
CQ Recommends

![]() One Soldier (1999) | One Soldier is a black-and-white short film starring and directed by Steven Wright. The film tells the story of a confused soldier who narrates throughout the movie his bizarre thoughts about the army and war in general, using Wright's trademark deadpan humor. Watchable on DailyMotion for free. “Steven Wright is a national treasure. Protect him at all costs.” - Sean |
![]() Godzilla Minus One (2023) | In postwar Japan, Godzilla brings new devastation to an already scorched landscape. With no military intervention or government help in sight, the survivors must join together in the face of despair and fight back against an unrelenting horror. “A compelling human story with one of the most devastating iterations of Godzilla yet. Worth a stream if you haven’t seen it!” - Flet |
Last week of Spooktober so we’ll scale back the horror movies soon. Then again, after Halloween we’ll be going into Election Week, which is much scarier. So who knows. Hopefully we’ll still be here then. Also, please (PRETTY PLEASE) vote in the upcoming election. You can check here to make sure you’re good to go: https://www.vote.org/am-i-registered-to-vote/
Big thanks to our new members who joined up since last week, and those who were already onboard. We really appreciate you. Consider joining if you haven't. Last thing for this week is a reminder that we still occasionally put out hints on our Twitter (X) and Instagram, so be sure to follow us if you want a sometimes confusing nudge.
