Happy October, CineCuties!
Have you nestled into your favorite spot on the couch with some mulled cider, playoff baseball, a worn-in irreplaceable blanket, maybe a purring cat snug in the folds like a warm croissant, and a game or two of CineQuote? Because that sounds just about perfect to us.
Tis our favorite time of the year, and although we can’t say we’re junkies of the genre, there will be a slight uptick in the amount of Horror Movies we throw your way. No jump scares, we promise, but definitely an increase in spookiness so maybe don’t play CQ at that abandoned farmhouse you’re staying in this week. And probably don’t check out that mysterious sound by the old well you keep hearing.
Last Week’s Highlights
Highest Win Percentage 93.7% | Lowest Win Percentage 46.8% |
The highest success rate of last week was Mary Poppins with an absolutely staggering 93.7% success rate, just beating out The Green Mile at 93.4%. This once again reinforces what we always tell people, never count against a British nanny, especially one who is an expert in the dark arts. Maybe she could visit the death row facility from The Green Mile and help brighten their day…
Lowest win rate this week? Barb & Star go to Vista Del Mar, the 2021 comedy starring Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumulo. In hindsight, this should have been a Sunday Stumper. We’re sorry if this busted your streak. It was still Pandemic Times when this came out so a lot of movies went under the radar, but it’s certainly worth a watch. Maybe we’ll bring it back down the road and you’ll know it this time, but sadly for last week only 46.8% of people “love a woman named Trish.”
Most Aced Movie 11.37% | Highest percentage of Aces was Mary Poppins where many of you weren’t fooled by Dick Van Dyke “old-manning” it up hard with his Mr. Dawes, Sr. character trying to get the joke. “A wooden leg named Smith…. A wooden leg named Smith…. A wooden-” For those of you who didn’t get it, please say aloud Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. It really does make you feel better. |
CQ Recommends

We watched Snow White. And we loved it.
An intimate look at a guy recreating 1/6th scale World War II scenes in his backyard. “They made a really [REDACTED] version of this with Steve Carrell back in 2018 that we are not recommending here. But the documentary Marwencol is special.” - Sean |
When fate brings Belfast teacher JJ into the orbit of self-confessed 'low life scum' Naoise and Liam Og, the needle drops on a hip hop act like no other. Rapping in their native Irish, they lead a movement to save their mother tongue. In theaters. “A funny and stylish real-life story with some great tracks.“ - Flet |
As always, it’d be a BIG HELP if you joined up as a Member. For 5 bucks a month, you get access to the last seven days of movies, information on where the movie of the day is streamable or rentable, and no ads when ads eventually pop up like gremlins. Just go to your Profile tab to sign up.
Last thing for this week is a reminder that we still occasionally put out hints on our Twitter (X) and Instagram, so be sure to follow us if ya want a gentle nudge in the right direction.
If you made it this far, here is a trio of one shots made just for you: the reader of newsletters.
