Chilled chmpagne or nothing. Priorities.
Well, after much hullabaloo we couldn’t see fit to wrap the newsletter up this week. The Governor has given a call down to the jail and stayed the execution. Well, this was a tough week for people so maybe THE INCREDIBLES salvaging things with an A grade was a welcome tonic. Three movies below the 70% threshold means we ought to do a kinder job next week.
One of those three that couldn’t manager the 70% passing grade was the 1933 very sassy 42ND STREET. Fun fact, this movie saved Warner Brother film studio from going broke. We tried to get you as close as we could with the title song:

But that wasn’t enough to help. Most people guessed other thoroughfare-centric movie titles like Broadway Melodies, Revolutionary Road, or, simply, Drive. ;-)

 The Fall (2006) | A hospital patient in 1920s Los Angeles befriends a little girl, and shares a fantastic tale of heroes, myths, and villains. Tarsem Singh made a bunch of money directing music videos and commercials and then decided to invest it all in a passion project which, despite how incredible this movie is, basically bankrupted him. I’ll leave it to Roger Ebert who wrote of The Fall, “Tarsem filmed it for four years in 28 countries and has made a movie that you might want to see for no other reason than because it exists. There will never be another like it.” There’s another movie called FALL from 2022 that I doubt Ebert would say the same thing about, so make sure you’re watching the right one. -Sean |
