We churned out a movie for Labor Day (like we do), and CineQuote’s birthday of December 16th is not yet recognized as a federal holiday. That means that we make games for you to play every… single… day. Like Balboa in Rocky V, we really need to retire, but something keeps dragging us back into the ring. THAT THING IS YOU! We can’t retire and we don’t take vacations. So welcome the concussive brain trauma! If you want to help with those medical bills, you can make Apollo and Mickey proud and become a CQ Memeber. We’re not gonna say that BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN nabbing a jacket-smelling 93% is the Universe ret-conning the 78th Academy Awards in which Crash surprisingly went home with top honors. We’re not gonna say that when we did Crash on CineQuote way back in Game #345 it could only play the race card to a 57%, and thus, was embarrassingly trounced by the Ang Lee directed romance. We’re not gonna say that, cause the numbers just did the talking.
Speaking of talking, MONEY TALKS was directed by Brett Ratner and fittingly, showcased an uunacceptably low rating. If you want more Ratner talk, you’re not gonna get it here. We are nonjudgemental with the movies we showcase here at CineQuote, but we can and will be very judgemental of men with multiple sexual assault cases who decided rather than face them, flee to Israel and under the protection of Netanyahu of who he had cozied up to over the years. Just more lighthearted fare you expect here at the Newsletter!

 The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) | A young woman separated from her lover by war faces a life-altering decision. Got to see this in the theater somewhat recently, and twirled my umbrella on the way home. Don’t be like me and wait forever even though you’ve heard of this movie since you were 15. Director Jacques Demy’s best work was in the wake of the French New Wave and this one still remains a highpoint in 60s cinema. -Sean |
