2025, We’re in the Future! 🤖
Happy New Year cinephiles and cinelikers. We got a good one to start the week. Had to really make some tough decisions on which quotes to pick, so if your favorite was not there, know that we’re saving that one for the next time it’s spotlit. Let’s see how everybody did with last week…
Last Week’s Highlights
Highest Win Percentage 94.8% | Lowest Win Percentage 43.4% |
A much tougher week overall than the barrage of holiday movies we were force-feeding everyone in December, however OCEAN’S 11 proved easy work for most of you. It snagged the top spot with a 94.8% win rate. That number may have been even higher if some didn’t select the o.g. Ocean’s 11 with Frank Sinatra from 1960 with their last guess. It’ll definitely take a couple “oh dammit, I picked the wrong one” before you get in the habit, but there’s no timer on CQ, so just take your time and be sure you’re picking the right movie. This will come in handy later when we do A Star is Born and you have 4 (!!!) to choose from.
MAGIC MIKE XXL got booed off the stage with a dismal 43.4% win rate. Maybe by the time it was clear it was Channing “White Chocolate” Tatum everyone was guessing the first installment, but Donald Glover’s voice in quote 2 and the road trip mention were hints we were in sequel territory. Still, we probably made this one too hard. Just a tricky thing to give audio quotes for a movie that is so based on visual…uh… performances. Still, next time Mike shows up, we’re gonna tone down the hardness. Ahem.
Most Aced Movie 13.1% | Speaking of hardness, BOOGIE NIGHTS won the Ace rate with an impressive 13.1%. That percentage is strangely (even cosmically?) fitting. And uh, moving on. “I didn't do anything. I... I didn't... Is she breathing? I don't know. I... I think maybe she did too much coke. Oh, do you think so, Doctor?” |
CQ Recommends

Let’s check the entertainment center!
Downtrodden English archaeologist Arthur reconnects with his wayward crew of accomplices - a happy-go-lucky collective of grave-robbers who survive by looting Etruscan tombs and fencing the ancient treasures they dig up. “For all the chatter about Josh O’Connor this year, most of it has had to do with Mike Faist, Zendaya, tennis, and sexual tension. However, this “mostly Italian” movie released in the U.S. earlier in the year had NONE of those things but is very much still worth the watch.” - Sean |
