CineQuote Newsletter #27
Remember, you can always chose to take CQ Pass/Fail.

Right before Spring Break, we apparently delivered some tough exams for you this last week. Don’t feel bad if this last week felt a tad difficult, you weren’t alone. You could make a good argument that we had three “Stumpers” this week, and if hadn’t dropped Warwick Davis doing his Leprechaun schtick in Quote 5, you could petition we almost had four. It was St. Patrick’s Day though, so it was either gonna be that or this critically-acclaimed darling from 2001. That was part of something called a “Zoog Weekend”, so you know it just HAD to be good.
We here at CineQuote occasionally like to wink and nod at you for the holidays. Not to say we do it all the time, but you better be ready when Secretary’s Day rolls around on April 23rd, because that day may just be your favorite BDSM James Spader/Maggie Gyllenhaal romcom(?) over on CineQuote.
Last Week’s Highlights
Highest Win Percentage 88.9% | Lowest Win Percentage 52.1% |
The man can do it all. He can sing. He can dance. He can act. He can regenerate. Oh wait. Sorry. That’s Wolverine, not Jackman, although Hugh Jackman has aged pretty damn well over these last twenty five years in the spotlight so who’s to say he ain’t a little mutant? Maybe he can get his 23 and Me test done before that company sells its data to Starlink or Orange Julius or whoever lands top bid. Jacking around aside, THE GREATEST SHOWMAN won the week with an impressive 88.9% win rate, with 30.3% of players needing that last little name drop of Barnum to get them to the Big Top. Well done, you lovable freaks.
Despite Robert De Niro being at arguably his height of fame (just post Casino,) apparently NOBODY saw THE FAN. The very dark, obsessive baseball fan intertwined with a slumping star (played by Wesley Snipes) probably should have found its way onto a Sunday down the line given the 52% win rate. We’re not gonna come right out and say you definitely need to see THE FAN. No, we’re not gonna say that at all, and hopefully this doesn’t take the excitement out of the upcoming baseball season, but we understand if that’s how you feel. Hopefully vengeful maniacs don’t show up on the field IRL this year.
Most Aced Movie 8.8% | At the finish of International Women’s Week, players heard people sprecking the Deutsch and took a chance by guessing RUN LOLA RUN. Having the Sunday Stumper be the highest Ace Rate for the week is RARE, and we feel it’s only fitting to lace up some Doc Martens, crank the house club mix on our earphones, and go for a jog to celebrate your feat, even at the cost of our feet. [translated into English] Aren't you ashamed barging in like this? Can't you see we're busy? I don't give a shit, you cow. I have other problems. [smack] Don't you dare... |
CQ Recommends

We recommend Warwick Davis in his true form.
From the Boer War through World War II, a soldier rises through the ranks in this smartly, satirical jab at the British miliary, and war in general. “Took me awhile to find this. The names Powell and Pressburger should be household ones, and perhaps you can help spread the word after you watch this one.” - Sean |
