We write to you now on the commencement of your new summer chapter! Gone are the days where you’d watch 6 hours of soccer between two countries whose existence you only recently learned about (but wasn’t Panem vs. Genovia a thriller!) Gone are the days where you suddenly developed a deep-rooted hatred for a team’s goalie you just became aware of because “Well just LOOK at him! Such a prick!” And gone are the days where you finally achieved United Nations level comprehension on the rivalry between South Korea and Morocco (it’s unforgivable isn’t it!?) So, what are you gonna do with all that new time the ending of the World Cup has afforded you? It’s a brave new world out there for ya. Anything is fair game. Have fun.
Turning to less exciting news, the CineQuote Newsletter, sadly, has really struggled to attract more readers. If you’ve gotten this far you’re basically in the top 5 percentile of people that play CineQuote, and frankly for the juice to be worth the squeeze, we’re gonna need that number to really bloom.
So, what we can say is this: we will continue with the Newsletter (slightly streamlined) for the next month or the like. Come Labor Day, if we’ve achieved zero growth on both a) subscribers to the Newsletter and b) readers of the Newsletter (after all, only about half actually click the email and read a bit) we will slap the Newsletter, and its writers, into cryo-stasis. Maybe in the future, more people will appreciate this scrappy little rag, and then the thawing process can be initiated. We’ll still continue doing the Triple Play for our lovely Members, even if the Newsletter is buried in an unmarked grave. Oh, and you could sign up as a CQ Member as well. That does help keep the fires going.
Speaking of which, welcome aboard to all our new CQ Members! We’re so thankful for your support. Thank goodness for Bill Skarsgård, for many reasons. Most relevant however this is that iconic voice he uses as Pennywise in IT: CHAPTER ONE. Fun to go back and watch his taped audition for It, well before he was a household name like his bro-bro.
We went ahead and used Gru’s name right there in that fifth quote for MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU, so maybe y’all were playing CQ in Speed-Mode even though that’s not a thing. Take your time, gang. There’s no race here. Really scour that last quote before you give up or just snidely guess Encino Man. It’s NEVER Encino Man (unless it is.)

We are big Plemmons-HeadsTM here, at CineQuote and we will work in his voice however we can, even when it’s a smaller role like it is in GAME NIGHT, which you could argue was in fact Plemmons’ movie, thanks to his scene-stealing role of Gary.
