This week in movie history Unforgiven premiered (1992) and then sixteen years later (to the DAY!) Morgan Freeman was seriously injured in a car accident which means, considering how things went for him in Unforigiven,.. CAN WE GET EYES ON MORGAN THIS WEEK, YOU GUYS! First week of August is some bad Final Destination juju for this man. We must protect our national treasure, at least until we get to Rosanna Arquette’s birthday on August 10th, Morgan’s safety is everyone’s top priority. For God’s sake, don’t let this man operate a forklift, take a Capoeira class, or get anywhere near a pissed off blowfish.

Whether you’re a Tolkienite or not, LOTR:TROTK (which is how everyone who’s cool pronounces it phonetically) did really, really well. Even those who missed the boat with Gandalf and Frodo, knew it was in that world of orcs and giant spiders and second breakfasts.
We were recently contacted asking if players could get partial credit if they knew the name of the actors in the quotes, but not the name of the movie. For instance, if they typed in to CineQuote “Ed Harris” or “Max Von Sydow” instead of the title NEEDFUL THINGS. Being that we aren’t a “point-style” game, that’s a tricky one to answer as there’s no partial credit to really dole out. You either can get the name of the movie in 5 quotes, or you can’t. The little devil on your shoulder might tell you that it’s okay to go ahead and Google Ed Harris / Max Von Sydow and then guess whatever comes from that. Would that be cheating? Perhaps, but that little devil doesn’t get into particulars.

Unlike other “Cleaners” in movies (Jean Reno, Harvey Keitel, those guys who show up at John Wick’s house, etc) the cleaner in TOY STORY 2 actually keeps it pretty literal, getting Woody into pristine shape prior to his looming sale. This was the only movie to even top double digits for the Ace, so it feels like Mr. Harris and his voice must have left somewhat of an impression. Harris’s biggest credit prior to this was probably his 83 episode run on the TV series “Lost in Space” as the saboteur Dr. Smith.

Cabaret only could muster a paltry 56.6% win rate, which means MANY of you need a trip back to Berlin. Or at least to get a little dose of Liza aside from binging “Arrested Development”, stream or rent Cabaret somewhere (becomeing a member informs you of where EVERY movie on CineQuote is streaming btw).
For any of you beautiful-brained lieblings, no need to pretened you are someone quite mysterious and fascinating. Realize you are mysterious and fascinating.

Belfast police conduct a door-to-door manhunt for an IRA gunman wounded in a daring robbery. This is not my favorite of the great Carol Reed’s films, but it’s a nice break from the norm to not see James Mason as the bad guy. Everybody subsequent to Reed ripped off his best elements so while watching Odd Man Out try not to count all the little things you’ve seen in other movies that came after this.
